EDTC 6433 Digital Citizenship Poster

For our final assignment I created a poster regarding the basics of copyright and piracy.  As ISTE4 relates to moral and ethical actions on the internet, I immediately think of copyright and sharing music between peers.  As the internet is such a prominent part of student's lives, most do not fully grasp the rules and regulations regarding the content that they find online.  This poster's goal is to provide a basic overview of the main ideas regarding copyright, piracy and the sharing of media.  This poster is aimed at students in middle school and parents of those children.  Parents could gain useful information from both embedded videos, particularly the one that shares websites that stream music legally.

EDTC 6433 Module 4 Resolution

Standard 8: Accomplished Teaching & Capstone

Standard 8 Standard 8 states teacher leaders “present the professional practice for the review of colleagues”. To me, this standard represents the spirit of not only what it means to work in a healthy teaching environment but what this Masters program is all about.   Having the courage to place yourself in the spotlight for others to critique and evaluate is a key component in both of these arenas.   For the success in this program we had to constantly put our ideas out for others to assess.   Likewise in a school setting, we are always sharing our thoughts, strategies, and teaching with others.   It might seem difficult and vulnerable, but the act of presenting professional practice for review is how all parties involved become stronger educators.   Reflection:             My previously held beliefs in relation to this standard were mixed.   On one hand, I loved the idea of sharing my teaching to others.   It is fun to show non music teachers what goes on

Standard 5: Culturally Responsive Teaching

Standard 5 states teacher leaders establish a culturally inclusive climate that facilitates academic engagement and success for all students.   To accomplish an understanding of what this standard entails, I took the class Culturally Responsive teaching.   Of all the courses within the Teacher Leadership Program, this course addressed the most personal and vulnerable aspects of not only my teaching, but my place in society as a whole. Through numerous engaging group discussions, articles, and reflective papers, I now have a better grasp as to what it takes to create a culturally inclusive climate for students.
